“Both consoles deliver amazing next generation speed and performance, and while we are just now scratching the surface of what they can do our teams are eager to continue exploring the full capabilities of Xbox Series X|S in the future. “Fans playing Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition on Xbox Series X will also experience the game in 4k resolution and with Direct X Ray Tracing. “We’re excited to bring Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition to Xbox Series X|S with high frame rates up to 120 fps, enhanced 3D audio, reduced loading times, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo Mode and playable Vergil on both consoles,” Capcom said in a statement. DMC5 Special Edition won’t feature ray tracing on Xbox Series S. In DMC5 Special Edition, players have the choice of turning on ray tracing and prioritising resolution (4K / 30fps) or frame rate (targeting 1080p / 60fps), as well as other visual modes without it. The console has virtually the same CPU as the $500 / £450 Series X, but a less powerful GPU, less memory and no disc drive. The $300 / £250 Xbox Series S was revealed last month and will target running games at 1440p, with support for ray-tracing, 120fps and 4K upscaling. There was no mention of PS5 in Monday’s update, however ray tacing has been shown running on the console in all of its promotion. Ray tracing will not be supported on the less powerful next-gen console, the publisher confirmed on Monday, while the more powerful Xbox Series X will receive the feature via a title update. Capcom has confirmed that Xbox Series S will not support the flagship visual feature of Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition.
